12 Days of Christmas: Day 10. Christmas Eve Party

Updated: Apr 24, 2021

If you’ve been following along with my 12 Days of Christmas, you should technically have everything you need to have a rockin’ Christmas Eve party. You have the decor, the food, the #tablescape, the outfit. All that’s left is the invitations, music and drinks!

It’s important to send invites well in advance because it seems everyone has something going on every day in December. I would send them a week before #Thanksgiving. It gives people enough time to check their calendars and RSVP, especially if the rsvp is via snail mail.

I love classic Christmas music, think Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole. But at a Christmas party, the classics might mellow the mood a little too much. Shake things up with modern classics, Mariah Carey obviously! Kelly Clarkson and Michael Bublé feel just as classic as Dean Martin.

The bar cart has made a huge comeback. But I mean, did it ever really leave? Either way, the bar cart are here! They add another element to your interior design that can change with the seasons. Why not have a little fun!

You cannot have an amazing, festive bar cart and no drinks to use your gadgets on! The most infamous holiday drink is of course eggnog but Hispanics drink coquito, a coconut milk variation of eggnog. When I think of Christmas drinks, I almost immediately think sangria. A little twist to traditional sangria is a peach sangria. It's just as good (maybe better!) than a red wine based sangria and it also changes up the color palette. And you cannot forget the bubbly! For super special occasions it's okay to splurge a little on champagne, I love Veuve Clicquot.
