12 Days of Christmas: Day 2. Foyer Decor
Now that we've set the tone for the holidays on the outside of the house, lets set the mood on the inside.
I prefer a more traditional holiday scene with the traditional red, green and gold color scheme. It feels more homey to me and nostalgic. And those are the same feelings I want to convey to my family when we gather for the holidays. I think that's the most important thing...that your decor, whatever your preference, inspires feelings of love and togetherness.
...feelings of love and togetherness.
One of the easiest and most impactful ways to trigger nostalgia is through scent.
Scents of Christmas
Nothing says cozy or Christmas like the smell of pine cones. I love the smell of real, natural pine cones placed cleverly on a credenza in a foyer so that the smell of Christmas washes over you as you walk into the door. If you prefer candles, I love Fresh Balsam from Bath & Body Works.
Speaking of foyers, a beautiful cascading garland hung from the staircase bannister makes for a grand entrance. With indoor garland, you can buy one that is all jazzed up or you can go all out and customize one to your taste and decor. You can add ribbon, picks, and bows. The possibilities are endless!

Bows & Ribbons
I hope this post brought you a lot of inspiration! I even got a little inspired myself. And I have to admit, even though I love a traditional Christmas, the blush pink and champagne accents definitely struck a chord with me.
What are your favorite color schemes and do you switch it up or does it stick?
